Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air in Oklahoma City was paying about $440 per HVAC lead on pay-per-click. After working with Stryker Digital, the owner says the phones were ringing more within three months. He grew from one Google Business Profile to about five and estimates 700–800 new customers since starting, at least partly from SEO.

What the owner said, by the numbers
| What | Owner's words | Timestamp |
|---|---|---|
| HVAC pay-per-click cost before | "our HVAC ads during the summer were 440 bucks or something like that per lead" | 2:54 |
| Close rate on those leads | "you're closing like, if you're lucky, 20% of those" | 3:05 |
| Time to results | "we started seeing actionable results, phones ringing more … definitely within 3 months" | 6:45 |
| Google Business Profiles | "we went from one … to now we're at I think five" | 5:23 |
| New customers | "we've added probably 7 or 800 new customers since we started with you guys … probably all attributed to SEO at least in some level" | 8:08 |
How to read these numbers: they're the owner's estimates on camera, not audited figures. He also says attribution is hard because Google reviews, SEO and other changes all launched together at the end of the previous year (7:51). The 700–800 figure is his own statement.
Video summary
Geoff came to plumbing and HVAC from accounting, so every marketing decision gets checked against the P&L. The year before, he spent heavily on pay-per-click while the business had almost no organic presence. HVAC leads ran about $440 each, and he closed maybe 20% of them. Working with Stryker Digital, the business grew from one Google Business Profile to about five (our Google Business Profile optimization checklist covers how each one is set up). At the same time it pushed Google reviews hard and ran several channels at once, so organic, Maps and paid all reinforce each other. That multi-channel mix is the core of our marketing for plumbing companies. Jeff says SEO began producing calls within about three months, just as the local economy slowed. He tracks jobs in ServiceTitan. If you're weighing PPC against Google's pay-per-lead option, see Local Services Ads vs Google Ads. His estimate: 700–800 new customers since starting.
Geoff Goodwill, Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air (2:39)"SEO's definitely my favorite channel because we spent a ton of money last year on pay-per-click stuff … but we weren't really known online."
What changed, according to the interview
- More Google Business Profiles. They went from 1 to about 5, using what Bodhi calls "pin maxing" (5:08). Only add profiles for real, staffed locations that meet Google's guidelines.
- A push on Google reviews, launched at the same time as SEO (8:08).
- Several channels at once. Organic and Maps visibility were meant to lower the blended cost per lead compared with pay-per-click alone (3:13).
- Tracking in ServiceTitan (5:56).

- Know your cost per booked job on paid ads. At about $440 per lead and a 20% close rate, Geoff's HVAC pay-per-click worked out to roughly $2,200 per closed job. That's simple arithmetic on his numbers, and it's the figure SEO has to beat.
- Expect about a quarter, not a week. He saw more calls within about 3 months, not overnight.
- Launch reviews and SEO together, and set up source tracking first so you can tell later what worked.
