Case Study · Pest control

Pest control marketing case study:
Surge grows to ~$2M.

A door-to-door-led pest control company in the Austin, Texas area, with a second Google Business Profile Stryker recommended. The owner's numbers and quotes, with timestamps.

Short answer

Forrest Jensen started Surge Pest Control from zero in Georgetown, Texas at the end of 2023. He did about $500K in year one and said in May 2026 he expected to finish the year "just shy of 2 million." In October 2026 he confirmed the business is hitting about $2M. Door-to-door sales drive the business. Stryker Digital runs SEO and recommended a second Google Business Profile, which he says is now "ripping."

Update, October 2026: Forrest confirmed to us that Surge is hitting about $2M in 2026 (owner-reported, not audited).

Honest attribution: Forrest names door-to-door sales as the core of the business, and he doesn't credit the revenue to SEO alone. Stryker runs SEO and the Google Business Profiles; we're one part of the growth, not the cause of it.

Video summary

Forrest sold door-to-door pest control to pay for college. He then co-founded a painting company whose best year was $3.1M, sold it, and went all-in on pest control. He started Surge Pest Control from zero at the end of 2023. Year one came in around $500K while he invested in an office, trucks and a door-to-door team. After fixing hiring, he expected to finish this year just under $2M. On Stryker, what he values most is transparency: he can see which pages were added. When services were missing from a new Google Business Profile (a common gap our Google Business Profile guide covers), his account manager fixed them in two days with no excuses. He also likes that the team is forward-looking on AI search.

The playbook behind Surge's SEO is the same one we lay out for owners in pest control marketing, and the map-pack side is covered in our guide to ranking in the Google Maps 3-pack.

"One of my favorite things about Stryker is the transparency. It's really easy for me to see what's going on … these are the pages that were added."

Forrest Jensen, Surge Pest Control (2:50)

"He was just like, shoot, yeah, I don't know why that wasn't in there. We'll get that taken care of. And two days later it was done." Forrest Jensen (3:39)

What we did, according to the interviews

  1. Added service and location pages, and showed the client each one (2:50).
  2. Recommended and built a second Google Business Profile for the Austin market (5:05).
  3. Completed every service on that profile (3:22).
  4. Held regular account calls with Forrest's account manager.

What other pest control owners can copy

  • SEO supports door-to-door; it doesn't replace it. In a recurring-plan business, inbound calls from Maps add customers without adding knocks.
  • Audit every profile's services list. Missing services means missing searches. It's the fastest fix there is.
  • Ask your agency for a monthly list of what was changed. If they can't show you, that's the problem.

FAQ

Did SEO grow the company to $2M?

Not by itself. The owner credits his door-to-door team as the core of the business. SEO and a second Google Business Profile are one part of it. He projected ~$2M for 2026 in May and confirmed in October that the business is hitting it.

How long did it take?

He started from zero at the end of 2023 and expected to finish this year just under $2M.
